📄 What kind of files work?

PageHamster works with self-contained HTML files — a single file that contains everything needed to run: the content, styles, and logic all in one place. This includes:

🎮 Interactive games built as a single HTML file
🧠 Quizzes and tests exported from tools like Google Forms alternatives, H5P, or hand-coded
📊 Presentations made with tools like Reveal.js or exported as HTML
📝 Worksheets and interactive exercises
🎨 Any creative web activity packaged as one HTML file

⚠️ Files that depend on separate images, stylesheets or scripts stored in other folders will not work correctly. Everything must be inside the single .html file.

🛠️ How to create a self-contained HTML file

If you are creating or exporting activities, make sure to choose the "single file" or "self-contained" export option. Most tools offer this:

In H5P — download as a standalone HTML file
In Genially / Canva — export as HTML (single file)
In Scratch — use an HTML export tool that bundles everything
For custom-coded activities — embed all CSS inside <style> tags and all JavaScript inside <script> tags. Convert images to base64 or embed them inline.

☁️ How to add an activity from Google Drive

1 Upload your .html file to Google Drive
2 Right-click the file → click Share
3 Under "General access" change it to "Anyone with the link"
4 Click Copy link
5 Go to PageHamster → click ＋ Add Activity
6 Paste the link → give it a name → click Add Activity
7 Your activity appears as a card — click it to open and run it 🎉

💾 How to save and move your activity list

Your activity list is saved automatically on the device you are using. To use it on another computer:

1 Click the 💾 Save / Load button
2 Click "Save my activity list" — this downloads a small file called pagehamster-list.json
3 This file appears in your Downloads folder (or wherever your browser saves files)
4 Keep it safe — save it to your own Google Drive, a USB stick, or email it to yourself
5 On your other computer — open PageHamster, click 💾 Save / Load → "Load saved list" → pick the file
6 All your activities appear instantly ✅

🔄 Using PageHamster on the same computer with different Google accounts

Important: If you and another person share one computer but use different Google accounts, your activity files live in different Google Drives. PageHamster cannot see files from another person's account.

To share activities between accounts on the same computer:

The first person shares their HTML file from their Google Drive (set to "Anyone with the link")
The second person copies that share link
The second person adds it to their own PageHamster using ＋ Add Activity

The file stays in the first person's Drive — both people just use the same share link.
